Stop Work Order For Collapsed Building In PJ

According to the Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain, a partial stop-work order will be issued for the on-going building at Persiaran Barat, which collapsed on Sunday.

The fourth-floor of the building collapsed suddenly, causing six foreign workers to trap under the wreckage.

“The stop-work order will be issued by the council will only be for the collapsed portion. The enforcement officers from the Building Department have also visited the construction site yesterday,” said Azizi.

A representative of the developer thanked both the Fire and Rescue Services Department and Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Smart) for their speedy action in rescuing all six workers injured during the incident.

He also further clarified that all the safety procedures were carried out promptly at the site. The management is currently investigating the cause of the incident and will be taking proper measures to prevent a similar accident in the future.

The developer will also cooperate with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Dosh) in the investigation.
